Trees - my final piece
For my final piece I have created a set of images which all show trees reflected in puddles. I have turned the images 180 degrees in order to give the effect of the tress upright. In order to challenge the viewer's understanding of the images I have cropped the images quite tightly so as not to include the edges of the puddles. I have looked further at Hannah Guy's work and included ideas around created images using layers and adjusting opacity. The images below are my final set of 2 images which show some of the skills I have learnt and some of my favourite images.
Looking at my images and thinking about the photos I have taken and my research I am really pleased to see how my camerawork has improved as well as my first work with post-processing in Photoshop. I have developed some knowledge around the ideas of changing contrast, colour (hues and saturation) and layers (using opacity). I can definitely see the influence of Hannah Guy and Grant Simon Rogers in my work and I am really pleased with the confusion seen in the images when they are rotated. The composition of each image is really dictated by the picture content and I have changed some of the plan as I have included the puddles' edges as I like the confusion created by the edges around the clearer parts of the images.
The idea of combining layers is something that I have enjoyed and see as effective and I want to experiment with gradients and blending in Photoshop as well.
