My first set of images
My first set of images were taken on a day when the sun was shining sometimes. I used a Nikon DSLR camera with a Nikon 18-200mm zoom lens and an Apple iPhone 4s. The camera was set to ISO 400 with a fixed aperture of f5.6 and this allowed me to keep some parts of the photographs blurred and highlight specific parts of the tree with selective focus. I cannot control the phone's setting like a camera but I have used HDR (High Dynamic Range) in the phone as this has helped include extra tone and colour which is missing when HDR is turned off.
I am pleased with the images and the contact sheets here are all pictures before any processing in Photoshop. I have saved the images in a separate folder and kept the file names on the contact sheets for reference later on when I process them.
I will concentrate my next pictures on details of the trees when I take more photographs. I will take the next images and attempt to create a joiner as well as creating sets of images and hope to discover new patterns when I arrange images together.
